Factors Walk and Tybee Engagement Photography

Parking in downtown Savannah can sometimes be a challenge. As I was driving to Reynolds Square for Michelle and Chuck’s engagement session I found a great spot right on the square. It was a little tight, but I was sure I can fit. As I began to squeeze into the parking place I backed a little too far and lightly tapped the bumper of the car behind me. When I got out to get my camera I realized someone was sitting in the car and that someone turned out to be Michelle and Chuck. Talk about an ice breaker! Fortunately we all laughed about it and went on to have an amazing time strolling around Factors Walk. After a wardrobe change we headed out to Tybee Island to catch the sunset over the North Beach.

I had such a wonderful time chatting, laughing, and getting to know Michelle and Chuck during the session. I can’t wait to document their Wedding!

Tybee Island Pirate Maternity Photos

When Rebecca and I first met Jessie and Phil during their Jekyll Island engagement session we became instant friends! In March 2014, a month before our little man Spencer was born, we documented their wedding. Since then they have been gracious enough to open their home to us as we evacuated to Augusta the past two years as hurricanes threatened the Savannah area. When Jessie asked if I would be willing to schedule a couples/maternity session, I couldn’t say yes fast enough! Jessie and Phil both love the water and are truly pirates at heart, so it was fitting to schedule the session on the weekend of the annual Tybee Island Pirate Festival. I was super excited when Jessie texted on their way to Savannah to say that they had decided to do the session in their pirate costumes.

We all had a great time laughing and playing on Tybee during their session! Especially Spencer, who was gladly wore his pirate costume and got in on a couple of photos. Thank you Jessie and Phil for being such sweet and amazing people! We can’t wait to welcome your little pirate into the world!

Tybee Sunset Engagement Photography

Tybee Island was hit pretty hard by Irma as she made her way through Georgia. I was a little anxious to see how the beautiful beaches fared as we prepared for Marcy and Sam’s Tybee Island engagement session. Aside from the flooding, which affected several residents, the beach has been changed once again. The power of the ocean moved sand and diminished dunes as the waters churned along the coast. Areas where I have photographed families and documented a couple’s love over the years are gone, but Tybee Island still remains! As I walked the North Beach with Marcy and Sam, we found plenty of gorgeous spots to highlight their love and Tybee’s everlasting beauty.
